KINGSTOWN, St. Vincent – Opposition Leader Arnhim Eustace is slated to appear in court on Nov. 30 to answer to a lawsuit filed against him by Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves.

On that same day, the High Court is slated to hear arguments regarding whether Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves should have been summoned to answer private criminal complaints against him in a separate matter.

Eustace said at a New Democratic Party (NDP) press conference yesterday that he is being sued because of material his party published last year.

“Sometime ago, we had published a pull-out in the newspapers sometime before the elections and there was a reference to Dr. Gonsalves’ case. I signed that release and he filed a suit against me. … that is what is coming up on the 30th of November,” he said.

Gonsalves’ Unity Labour Party was returned to office for a third term after an 8-7 victory over the NDP.
