KINGSTOWN, St. Vincent – Police have identified as Gary Williams, 28, of Old Montrose the man shot in Kingstown during the pre-dawn hours of New Year’s Day.

Williams was up to Wednesday still warded at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital with gunshot wounds and police say their investigations are continuing.

The man was shot as gunshots rang out in Kingstown around 1 a.m. Sunday, as worshipers made their way home from New Year’s Eve services and partygoers headed to entertainment spots across the city.

The shooting took place on McCoy Street near to Brewster’s Auto, formerly Black Cat Bar.

Sources told I-Witness News that a car with no number plates drove by and two mask men fired shots at Williams, who was sitting in the area.

They said as many as four shots were fired in the crowed area.
