KINGSTOWN, St. Vincent – A Vincentian Customs official is among four persons killed during a shootout between local police and foreign drug runners in Union Island, Sunday afternoon, well-placed sources tell I-Witness News.
Sources say that occupants of a foreign vessel, believed to be from Venezuela, opened fire on police and Customs officials in the Southern Grenadine island.
Police returned fire killing three of the foreigners and wounding another.
The Vincentian Customs official died during the exchange, according to sources.
