Dec.1 marks the start of the season of Advent, which signals the beginning of the church’s year.

And, the Anglican Archdeaconry of St. Vincent and the Grenadines will host its annual Advent Mission Service on Dec. 1 at 9:30 a.m. at the Arnos Vale Playing Field.

The Service will be preceded by a procession of witness of Clergy and Laity in the Archdeaconry. The Advent Mission will be celebrated under the theme: “Anglicans Deepening the Bonds of Affection – Through an Abiding Relationship with Jesus.”

The preacher will be The Reverend Shelly Ann Tenia, priest in charge of Holy Saviour Parish Curepe in the Diocese of Trinidad and Tobago.

Rev. Tenia was ordained Deacon by Bishop Calvin Bess on May 14, 2005 and to the priesthood on Oct. 28, 2006. The Advent Mission Service will commence at 10 a.m. on Dec. 2.
