JOHN’S, Antigua — Directors of the West Indies Cricket Board met in Antigua on Saturday and deliberated on a number of matters including cricket, governance, development, commercial and finance.
The Board of Directors approved 12 central retainer contracts for male players as follows: Sulieman Benn; Kraigg Brathwaite; Darren Bravo; Dwayne Bravo; Shivnarine Chanderpaul; Jason Holder; Denesh Ramdin; Kemar Roach; Andre Russell; Darren Sammy; Marlon Samuels, and Jerome Taylor.
Christopher Gayle, and Sunil Narine were also offered annual retainer contracts, but they declined.
Selection for central retainer contracts was done based on player performance in the various formats, with Test cricket being the premier format followed by One-day Internationals and Twenty20 Internationals.
These contracts will be for the period Oct. 1, 2014 to Sept. 30, 2015.
Correction: An earlier version off this article said that Tayloe declined the contract. He, in fact, accepted the contract.
