Joshua Harry of the Kingstown Preparatory School has won the Ministry of Education & Hodder Education Grade 6 Writing Competition.
Harry won the competition on Thursday after making it to the finals.
The preliminaries were held on Jan. 12.
Fifty-three of the nation’s 68 primary schools participated in the preliminaries.
Ten students were selected for the finals.
They are Kristy Da Silva — Richland Park S.D.A.; Annique Patterson — Calliaqua Anglican, Genevieve Mc Master — Windsor Primary, Joshua Harry — Kingstown Preparatory, Jaydealeah Chambers — Barrouallie Government, Maleeka, Providence — Gomea Methodist, Brenell Joseph — Kingstown Anglican, Cody Bartley — Fitz Hughes Government, Ronece Robertson — Belmont Government, Jolece Yammie — Calder Government.
Results:
3rd: Jolece Yammie of Calder Government
2nd: Kristy Da Silva of Richland Park S.D.A.
1st: Joshua Harry of Kingstown Preparatory.
Harry’s essay was entitled “Vanished”.
