The Carnival Development Corporation has announced the postponement of the Soca Monarch Semi-Finals, which was scheduled for this evening in Kingstown.
“Based on discussions with the MET Office of SVG, the Carnival Development Corporation (CDC) has been advised that the pattern of showers and thunderstorms is expected to continue for the rest of the evening.
“As a result, a decision has been taken to postpone the Royal Rumble (Soca Monarch Semifinals) until tomorrow, Monday 27th June 2022,” the CDC said in a statement.
“The venue and show time remain the same,” the CDC said, adding, “We regret any inconvenience this may have caused.”
Twenty artistes have been selected to in each of the Ragga Soca and Power Soca categories of the show, which was scheduled for the Solidarity Car Park Inc. in Kingstown.
SVG was experiencing torrential rains Sunday evening, as forecasters continued to monitor the progress of two westward-moving tropical waves located over the tropical Atlantic.
