The third round of matches for the year in the Shevern John North Windward Cricket Competition took place last weekend at the Owia Playing Field.

On Saturday, Owia Rivals defeated Passionate Girls. Passionate Girls batted first and scored 86 for 3 from their allotted 10 overs. Owia Rivals responded and met their target, scoring 87 runs after losing 4 wickets.

In game two, Excellent Spirit proved too strong for Rum Hitters. Excellent Spirit batted first, securing 109 for 6 from their allotted 10 overs. Rum Hitters responded with 87 runs for 4 wickets.

Omarl Lavia top scored with 30 runs.

Kani Mac was selected as best bowler, having taken 3 wickets for 9 runs off 2 overs.

Then, Diamonds Young Strikers defeated Byera Linkers. Diamond Young Strikers batted first and scored 65 for 7 from their 10 overs.

Byera Linkers were unsuccessful in their chase, trailing 63 for 8 from their 10 overs.

Marlem Scrumb scored the most runs — 22. The best bowling average S. Williams was 3 for 5 runs from 2 overs.

In Sunday’s encounters:

London Combine batted first and scored 41 runs for 6 wickets from their 10 overs. Family and Friends beat that score, without losing a wicket. They scored 42 runs in 3.3 overs.

All-rounder Denella scored the most runs, 22, she was also named best bowler, having taken 2 wickets for 2 runs from 2 overs.

In the last match between Hard Hitters and Distillers Strikers, Hard Hitters batted first and scored 72 runs for 5 from their 10 overs. Distillers Strikers made 64 for 4.

Ronald Patterson scored the most runs with a total of 33.

The best bowling average was Denronick Nanton, with 2 wickets for 4 runs from 2 overs.
