A Richland Park man has been jailed for one year and seven months for possession of an unlicensed firearm.
Trevano Caine, a 21-year-old Labourer, has also been sentenced to a nine-month jail term for possession of two rounds of .22 ammunition without a licence.
However, Caine will only serve the longer of the sentences, which will run concurrently.
Magistrate Bertie Pompey handed down the sentences at the Colonarie Magistrate’s Court, on Thursday.
Caine pleaded guilty to charges that he had the firearm and ammunition in his possession on April 12, at Belle Isle.
