Athletes in Action Inc. (AiA) concluded its inaugural ABC (Action Brings Change) Kickoff Weekend with a series of impactful events aimed at uniting stakeholders and fostering positive change within the community.

The weekend commenced with a networking event in Kingstown that brought together a diverse group of participants, including corporate entities, sporting organisations, educational institutions, parents and athletes.

The evening, which was hosted by AiA founder and SVG”s newest sports ambassador, Shane Cadogan, featured inspirational talks by MLS professional star and Stanford graduate Ousseni Bouda and Ian Sardine, a phenomenal Vincentian mentor in youth sports.

Directors Jules Snagg and Solomon Bascombe also shared their insights into the organisation’s mission and vision as well as highlighting the organization’s partners.

The following Saturday witnessed a thrilling fundraising football event showcasing marquee players alongside promising local talents.

The event not only celebrated the spirit of sportsmanship but also introduced the “Goal for a Cause” initiative, allowing individuals to make pledges that directly contributed to the support funding for scholarship opportunities for young athletes.

The weekend concluded on a spiritual note with a church service at, expressing gratitude for the blessings of community and youth sports.

This service enforced AiA’s mission to seek Vincentian talent, surrender resources as a team of Vincentian people and to serve the youths of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

“AiA looks forward to building on the success of the ABC Kickoff Weekend, with a commitment to empowering young athletes and driving positive change through action,” a press release said.

It said the group’s website, which was launched recently, provides the community with an opportunity to get to know the organisation and how they can be a part of the team.

Persons can sign up as members as well as make donations that will be directed towards supporting young student athletes on their journey to higher education and opportunities through combining sports and academics.
