First Vice-President of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Teachers’ Union, Nicole Martindale will challenge Oswald Robinson for the union’s presidency in elections on Feb. 27 and 28.
Robinson was re-elected president of the union in 2022, defeating Nikeisha Williams, who was general secretary in the biennium ending 2020, when she was voted out of office.
Vanrick Williams, who Martindale defeated to take her current position, will face off with Abdon Whyte for the 1st Vice President post.
Whyte is currently the union’s 2nd Vice President, a post for which Lesha Benjamin and Yokann Blugh-Holder will compete.
The incumbent general secretary Ketty Kydd-Rhynd will face a challenge by Andrea Durrant.
Shakeena Barbour-Simmons, Anthony Compton, Samantha Cordice, Reba Cozier, Attika James and Florence Samuel will compete for the two committee members positions.
Meriah Samuel is unopposed in his bid to become Treasurer as is the case with Assistant General Secretary — Tishanna Reid and Public Relations Officer — Fiona Charles
