Six finalists have been selected from 12 schools across four zones in 2024 Lions Club St Vincent South/FLOW SVG National Secondary Schools Public Speaking Competition.
The finalists are:
- Macy Baptiste — Sandy Bay Secondary School
- Jaheem Primus — St. Vincent Grammar School
- Rahj Bulze — Dr. J.P. Eustace Memorial Secondary School
- Samara Lynch — Mountain View Adventist Academy
- Kyra Johnson — North Union Secondary School
- Alexander Cummings — St. Martin’s Secondary School
The six finalists will meet with the Club’s public speaking committee at 1:30 p.m. at Computec’s conference room in Kingstown.
The finals will take place on Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. at the Methodist Church Hall in Kingstown. The Students will speak on the topic, “Our world is in a state of confusion as it tries to reconcile one’s inalienable rights, civil liberties, religious beliefs and the role of the State.”
Telecommunications provider FLOW SVG is the sponsor of this year’s competition for yet another year.
The finalists will be vying for the Lion Michael De Freitas Challenge Trophy.
