All Pro Masters earned the right to defend their Festival Division title by remaining unbeaten after recording an 81-run victory over North Leeward Masters at Cumberland on Friday. 

Behind the festival’s first century, 107 by Randy Ramana, All Pro Masters talled 167 for 3 in their reduced allotment of 18 overs. Deems Baird also contributed 34 not out. Clemore Millington took 2 for 35 bowling for North Leeward Masters who could only manage 86 all out in 14.4 overs. 

William Bill Edwards score 27 while Dale Samuel added 23. Deepak Kumar 4 for 24 and Ryan Baksh 3 for 7 combined forces to stall the North Leeward Masters’ progress. 

SVG Police Masters defeated Canada Masters by 8 wickets on the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method in a rain-shortened match at Park Hill. 

Canada Masters made their way up to 169 for 3 in 20 overs due to a superb second wicket partnership of 110 between captain Vanay Devishetty, who scored 75 not out, and Kiran Bodhasrongi — 60. Gerald Gould’s 2 for 26 were the best figures on the day by a SVG Police Masters bowler.

Set a revised target of 78 in 8 overs after the rain, SVG Police shot up to 78 for 2 in 6.5 overs. Hyron Shallow stood out with a polished 49 not out. 

The result meant that both SVG Police Masters and Canada Masters ended the preliminaries of the Festival Division with 9 points. Canada Masters, however, will contest Saturday’s Festival Division Final after having a superior net run rate of 1.29 compared to SVG Police Masters’ .376. 

In the last preliminary match of the Festival Division, Mustique Company Masters upset North East Masters when they handed them a 5-wicket defeat at Park Hill. 

With each innings reduced to 19 overs due to a late start, North East Masters were dismissed for 124 in their allotment of overs. 

Marcus Castello stroked 48 not out. Ian Allen 2 for 22 and Dexter Small 2 for 25 were the best bowlers on show for Mustique Company Masters who replied with 125 for 5 in 13.3 overs. 

Oniel Thomas 54 and 22 each from Nicholas Baptiste and Drumo Toney set up the win for Mustique Company Masters. Mahlon John was the most successful bowler for North East Masters taking 2 for 16. 

In the Fete Division, there were three table-disrupting results on the last day of the preliminaries. 

AMAAS Sporting Services Barbados Masters humbled Prime Minister’s XI by 10 wickets in a match that lasted a combined total of 13 overs at the Sion Hill Playing Field. Fielding only 10 players, the Prime Minister’s XI were bundled out for 14 in 11.4 overs. Anthony Morris — 4 for 0 from 4 overs, Weslev Straker — 3 for 0 from 1.4 overs and William Lashlov — 2 for 9 from 4 overs ripped apart the Prime Minister’s XI batting. AMAAS Sporting Services Barbados Masters then just needed eight deliveries to reach 16 without loss and record a comprehensive victory. 

At the Stubbs Playing Field, Trinbago Leatherbacks Masters upset the previously unbeaten Canadian Legends 50 Plus Masters, beating them by 14 runs. 

Trinbago Leatherbacks Masters managed 103 for 4 in their 20 overs. Bobby Lallie made 37. Canadian Legends 50 Plus Masters in reply stumbled up to 89 all out in 19.1 overs with only two players reaching double figures. 

Micah Joseph and Reginald Jeffery proved too much with the ball for Canadian Legends 50 Plus Masters taking 2 for 13 and 2 for 29 respectively. 

Also at Stubbs, drama ensued when Vee Jays North Windward Masters handed Windies Masters their first loss, defeating them by one run.  

Vee Jays North Windward Masters were dismissed for 129 in 16.2 overs with Ian Jordon hitting 43. Orlando Jackson took 3 for 6 while Chris Vernan picked up 3 for 14. 

Windies Masters were well placed at 101 for 5 with 6 overs to go but were eventually restricted to 128 for 6 when their 20 overs ran out. 

Neil Baptiste led the batting with 43. Hanif Olliviere 2 for 21 and Dan Williams 2 for 22 pulled things back in favour of Vee Jays North Windward Masters in the later stages of the match. 

The Fete Results of Friday pushed AMAAS Sporting Services Barbados Masters into the Fete Division Finals ahead of Canadian Legends 50 Plus Masters on a better net run rate; 2.84 compared to 1.85, after both teams ended Group A on nine points. 

The second Fete Division finalists are Windies Masters who edged Vee Jays North Windward Masters also on a better net run rate, 1.16 compared to .127, after each team accumulated 9 points each. 

The Fete Division Final will be played from 10 a.m. after which the Festival Division finale begins at 2 p.m., both at the Sion Hill Playing Field.
