Team SVG have delivered an impressive performance at the 2025 Junior Caribbean Area Squash Association Championships, securing two championship titles and two third-place finishes in the individual events held in Grand Cayman.

Jayden George captured his fifth consecutive Junior Caribbean title in commanding fashion, competing in the Boys Under-17 category.

He defeated Cayman Islands’ Charlie Makin in straight sets (11-4, 11-9, 11-3) in the final. George, who also serves as team captain, went unbeaten throughout the tournament, without dropping a single game. 

He began with a dominant opening round win over Bermuda’s Rocco Adderley (11-1, 11-7, 11-2), followed by a confident win against Jamaica’s Ethan Miller (11-5, 11-9, 11-4). 

In the semi-finals, he overwhelmed Owen Rosorea of Bermuda (11-3, 11-1, 11-4), securing his place in the final with another straight-sets victory.

In the Boys Under-11 division, Savantè Padmore also emerged champion. After receiving a BYE in the first round, he dominated Guyana’s Rafael Brathwaite 11-2, 11-3, 11-4, Evan Ghuran from Trinidad 11-2, 11-1, 11-5 and Guyana’s Zion Hickerson in a hard-fought final (11-6, 8-11, 11-7, 11-5) to capture his first regional title. 

Aiden DeFreitas (BU15) and Zavin Garrick BU11) each earned third place finishes after competitive runs. DeFreitas won his bronze medal match against Cayman’s Adriano Vera (11-3, 10-12, 11-9, 11-6), while Garrick defeated Evan Ghuran (Trinidad) 11-0, 11-7, 9-11, 11-3.

Other team members also had valuable performances, including Deron Lewis and Ethan Webster.

A total of 127 athletes from eight Caribbean countries, namely Barbados, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Guyana, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, and SVG are competing in this year’s tournament, which runs from June 29 to July 5.
