Former media personality Nolwyn Bennette aka Nolly B, of Calliaqua, has been freed of the October 2024 murder charge against him.

Bennette was freed during a preliminary inquiry at the Serious Offences Court, in Kingstown, earlier this month.

Bennette, a 46-year-old businessman and former NICE Radio announcer, was charged with murder in connection with the stabbing death of Elijah Crease.

Crease, a 34-year-old labourer of Prospect, died at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, where he was taken after a stabbing incident in Calliaqua on Sept. 30, 2024.

Bennette was freed after the prosecution could not produce any of their two star witnesses who were key to their case.

One of the witnesses who did not turn up to give evidence is the mother of another alleged murder victim.

Bennette was represented by counsel Grant Connell.
