The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force said Monday it has launched an investigation into the death of a male visitor, one day earlier, on board a ferry operating between Kingstown and the Grenadines.
The deceased has been identified as David John Hyde, 73, who was pronounced dead by a district medical officer on Sunday.
“Preliminary information suggests that the deceased may have sustained injuries consistent with a fall. However, a post-mortem examination is scheduled to be conducted to determine the exact cause of death,” police said in a statement.
Investigators are asking people with information that can assist in the investigation to telephone 911, 999, 784-456-1810, or any police station or police officer.
“All information received would be treated confidentially,” the statement said.
