The H2O Lions Swim Club turned in a commendable performance at the SAC Invitational Championship at the Shewsbury Aquatic Centre from Feb. 26 to March 1.
Competing as the youngest and smallest of the three clubs at the meet, the H2O Lions demonstrated notable progress and determination throughout the championship.
Every swimmer set new personal best times, reflecting consistent training and steady development. Strong teamwork was also evident, particularly in the relay events.
Several swimmers earned podium finishes in their respective age groups, including J’nyah and K’mar Rose, Ezron Quashie, Tyler Forde, Nial Allen, Tezza Sutherland, Rhonyah Jack, Trey Forde and Kyle DeRoche, signalling the club’s growing competitiveness.
Coaches Josel Williams, Elise Quashie, Odonza Dennie and Sandra Paulemon commended the athletes for their discipline and resilience, noting that each personal best represented a collective achievement. Appreciation was also extended to parents and supporters for their continued encouragement.
The championship featured some of St. Vincent and the Grenadines’ top swimming talent and provided a valuable competitive experience for the H2O Lions.
With this strong showing, the club now looks ahead to upcoming regional competitions with confidence and renewed momentum, a press release said.
