The Ministry of Sports has announced the appointment of former national footballer Renson Haynes as manager of the National Sports Council (NSC).
Haynes’ appointment took effect on May 4.
The ministry said Haynes brings to the position a wealth of experience in sports administration, leadership, and organisational management.
“His appointment reflects the Government’s continued commitment to strengthening the administration and development of sport in St. Vincent and the Grenadines,” the release said.
It said that, as manager of the National Sports Council, Haynes will be responsible for overseeing the council’s operations, managing the nation’s sporting facilities, coordinating the implementation of sports programmes and initiatives, and supporting the advancement of athletes and sporting organisations throughout the country.
“The Ministry is confident that Mr. Haynes’ dedication, professionalism, and passion for sports development will contribute significantly to the enhancement of the sporting landscape in St. Vincent and the Grenadines,” the release said.
