St. Vincent and the Grenadines has recorded yet another gun-related death, with the latest victim dying in the East St. George community of Glen, on Friday night.
The victim has been identified as Sandre Matthias, a 35-year-old vendor, of the same address.
Police were called to the scene of a shooting near a minimart, where the body of an adult male was found unresponsive.
He was later identified as Matthias.
Matthias’ death brings the homicide count this year to 23 and is the third killing in the country this month.

Investigators are also on the hunt for the killer(s) of Gayron Jackson, 49, who was shot dead on July 1.
Jackson died at the scene in Mt. Young, Georgetown, after being shot multiple times while on his way into the mountains to buy coconuts.
SVG recorded 40 homicides in 2025, 14 fewer than the previous year.
