The Archery Association of SVG, Inc. held their outdoor national championships on Saturday at the National Archery Range in Belair.
Archers competed in various categories/divisions in a tightly contested event.
For the first time, the association had archers shooting Olympic distance at 70 metres, along with archers shooting in beginner and development categories.
The hot conditions proved a worthy opponent as archers battled the heat to shoot their respective qualifying round of 72 arrows, setting several new national records.
This was followed by a knockout elimination round to determine the champions in each category.

After several exciting elimination matches (including one shoot-off), champions emerged as follows:
Recurve Men 70m
- Gold Medal – Rayon Clarke
- Silver Medal – Ian Gibson
Recurve Women 70m
- Gold Medal – Karen Palmer
- Silver Medal – Richol Richards
Recurve Development Men 50m
- Gold Medal – Vanburn Harry
- Silver Medal – Adrian Parris
- Bronze Medal – Tristan Ballah
Recurve Beginner Combined 30m
- Gold Medal – Alexys Liverpool
- Silver Medal – Dreden Lewis
- Bronze Medal – Garvanique Walters
Barebow Beginner Men 30m
- Gold Medal – Kobi Branch
- Silver Medal – Kris Simmons
Minister of Sports Kaschaka Cupid and Senator Chelsea Alexander visited the event and showed their support.
A two-member team will be participating in the Barbados Senior Games later this month, and an 11-member delegation will travel to Guyana in October for the 2026 Caribbean Development Championships and the inaugural Caribbean Championships.
