An Ottley Hall teenager was up to midday Thursday being treated in hospital after he was shot in Upper New Montrose (“Monkey Hill”) around 10 p.m. Wednesday.

Alwyn “Bunny” Browne became the third resident of his West Kingstown community to be shot over the past two weeks.

Police in Kingstown denied reports that the teenager had died, as had been reported in some segments of the media earlier on Thursday.

They said the youngster is 16 to 17 years old, but they have not been able to verify his age as yet.

Reports are that the residents of the community, responding to what sounded like gunfire and screams, found the wounded teenage and rushed him to hospital.

The Police Public Relations Department on Thursday acknowledged that they had also heard reports that the young man had died, but denied that this was the case as of midday Wednesday.
They did not detail the nature or extent of his injuries.

On April 2, an unknown assailant shot and killed Lesroy “Magnum” Sam, 20, in Rose Place, Kingstown.

Three days later, Carlos “Bap” Richardson, 36, of Ottley Hall, died on the spot at Ottley Hall after an unknown assailant shot him in the back.
