KINGSTOWN, St. Vincent – Police yesterday charged Derrick Shawn John, 38, of Brighton with attempted murder over the stabbing of two women last Saturday, the National Broadcasting Corporation (NDC) reported yesterday evening.

The charges stem from the wounding of Keneisha Belgraves, 31, a loans officer of Brighton and customs officer Claudine Simmons, 32, of Green Hill.

According to the NBC, John appeared before the Serious Offences Court and was remanded in police custody pending until a bail review on Feb 23.

A preliminary investigation into the matter is scheduled for June 15.

The charges stem from a stabbing incident in Brighton last Saturday night, reported to have taken place in a vehicle driven by Belgraves, in which John and Simmons were also travelling.
