The Ministry of Health will today, Saturday, host a town hall meeting at the Orange Hill Community Centre at 3 p.m. to sensitise residents of he community and surrounding communities on the temporary relocation of the Mental Health Centre to Orange Hill.
The relocation is as a consequence of the renovations, which will commence shortly at the current location of the Centre at Glen.
The Centre will be renovated under the 10th EDF project, a project that is designed to modernise and further develop the national health sector.
The meeting will hear remarks from the Minister of Health, Wellness and the Environment, Clayton Burgin, Minister of Housing and Area Representative for North Windward, Montgomery Daniel, along with an overview of the project as it relates to the relocation of the Mental Health Centre by David Latchman, Health Planner.
“A kind invitation is also extended to residents of Orange Hill and the surrounding communities to attend and to arrive on time, Luis de Shong, permanent secretary in the Ministry of Health said in a press release.
Up north really have it going. 2005 cabanas, 2010 fish complex, 2015 mental home.
Once they move them to Orange Hill they will be housed there forever. Every day those who do not pose a threat to themselves or others, are let out. They walk into Kingstown and beg, lay in the street and generally make a nuisance of themselves. At Orange Hill they will stay in the area, its your turn to have them.
