Police have captured a man wanted in connection with an attempted murder, two months after he was placed on a wanted list in connection with the crime.
The wanted man, Denzil Sam aka “Scammie” armed with a firearm and seven rounds of ammunition was caught by the police on Thursday, at Ottley Hall, police said on Friday.
He appeared before the Serious Offences Court on Friday and was remanded in custody until his next court appearance, on Dec. 15.
Sam, a 29-year-old unemployed Ottley Hall resident, is accused of shooting Dexter Rodney of Rockies at Rose Place on Oct. 1, 2015.
Shortly after, the Royal St.Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force issued a wanted notice for the accused regarding the offence of attempted murder.
After two months on the run, the police caught Sam on Thursday at a house in Ottley Hall.
Besides being charged with attempted murder, he was also charged with having a .380 pistol in his possession with seven rounds of .380 ammunition.
Checks were made at the Traffic Department, which deals with firearm registration, and it was revealed that the accused is not the holder of a firearm license.
