Odelia Delpesche of the Bishop’s College Kingstown on Monday received her prize for being the March and 100th winner of the Secondary School Bible Quiz.

She received her prize from Clare Keizer, editor of Searchlight, during the school’s assembly for the opening of Term 3.

It was the second month in a row that Bishop’s College was winning the quiz, as another student, Gabricia Yorke won the prize for February.

Keizer commended the school for the quality of students it has been producing for the workforce.

She gave three examples of past Bishop’s College students who have done very well at the Searchlight. In complimenting the organizers she also highlighted the importance of not only reading the Bible but also applying its teachings, which can help to ennoble lives.

Delpesche received $200 and a Bible from the organizers, a $200 gift-voucher and voucher for wrapped gift for her parent compliments Acute Cosmetics, along with a $100 voucher from Jujube bookstore.

The quiz continues monthly and Joel Jack announced that the $100 Jujube voucher will continue to be a part of the monthly prize from this month, thanks to part sponsorship from that bookstore.

The assembly observed a minute silence in honour of Akeili Latham, a Form 4 student of the St. Vincent Grammar School and a participant in the quiz who drowned in Bequia on Saturday.
