Coreas Mini Mart, which was gutted by fire last year, reopens on Monday as Coreas Food Mart.

A fire at the Bay Street Kingstown business on Aug. 16, 2015 left some EC$2 million in loss and damage.

Jimmie Forde, chief executive officer of Coreas Distribution, owners of Coreas Food Mart, told iWitness News that the business will re-open to customers at 8 a.m. Monday, Aug. 8.

Forde said that customers can expect a very pleasant shopping environment, a wider range of products, competitive prices, and a friendly and helpful staff.

He said the pharmaceuticals area has been expanded and stocked with and increased ranged of health and beauty products.

Forde told iWitness News that the business had 40 employees at the time of the fire and retained all of them, but one or two left subsequently left to pursue new opportunities.

He said the store will reopen with 48 members of staff.
