An election was held on Sunday at the Owia Salt Pond recreational site, where a new executive was elected to run the affairs of the organization.

The members of the new OSCO executive are:

  • President: Arnette Pollard
  • Vice–President: Rochelle Baptiste
  • PRO: Shaffiquer Nanton
  • Treasurer: Danroy King
  • Assistant Treasurer: Wennecia Willis
  • Secretary: Fayann Pollard
  • Sports Officer: Shandine small
  • Committee Members: Kenisha Nanton, Ieisha Nanton, and Britney Baptiste

The group’s first event will be held this Saturday, Sept. 3, in the form of a river lime and bingo. The funds raised will also be used to host the upcoming women’s 20/20 cricket competition, which is expected to attract a number of teams from communities in the North Windward and other constituencies.

The competition is expected to begin on Sept. 17.

The other activities for the remainder of the year will include a health seminar and a Christmas party for children in the area along with Christmas lunch for the needy.

“The group is grateful for the support given to it over the years by the people of Owia and surrounding communities along with their sponsors and is looking forward to continuing partnership in the years to come,” Nanton said in a press release.
