The National Emergency Management Organisation (NEMO) on Wednesday urged residents in areas prone to flooding and landslides to exercise caution as a trough system was affecting St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG).

The SVG Meteorological Office said at 9:30 a.m. that the trough system will continue to generate unstable conditions across the northern and central portions of the island chain, including Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

As a result, cloudiness, pockets of moderate to heavy showers, thunderstorms and occasional gusty winds will continue to spread across the islands.

Analysis suggests that these conditions will continue to affect the country during the next 24 hours.

NEMO said that it will continue, through the SVG Meteorological Office, will continue to monitor the situation.
