Two healthcare facilities in St. Vincent and the Grenadines received donations from a New York-based group, the final such contribution as the organisation has been dissolved.

The New York-based organisation, Progressive Friends of SVG (PFOSVG), on Tuesday, donated cheques for US$1,292 each to The Mental Health Rehabilitation Centre and the Lewis Punnett Home in St. Vincent and the Grenadines on Tuesday.

Roseclair Charles, a social worker and the executive director of the House of Hope Society, a faith based organisation, presented the cheques on behalf of PFOSVG to the administrators of the healthcare facilities.

Since its inception, PFOSVG has aimed to support and aid the two institutions.

They have done so through fundraising events, which provided funds that enabled the organisation to send items such as clothing, food, toiletries and medical supplies. They were also able to donate toys, food and clothing to other charitable organisations in St. Vincent.
