A Lowmans Hill man will return to court on Wednesday for the hearing of the facts and sentencing in relation to three counts of possession of an unlicensed firearm and one count of possession of ammunition without a licence.

Leany Shallow pleaded guilty to the charges while his co-accused, Wendy Trotman, pleaded not guilty and had the charges against her withdrawn when they appeared before Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne-Matthias at the Serious Offences Court on Monday.

The offences were committed on Sunday, Dec. 10, at Lowmans Hill.

He also pleaded guilty to having in his possession one firearm, the make and model of which is unknown.

Shallow further pleaded to possession of one 9mm Beretta pistol.

He also pleaded guilty to possession of 13 rounds of 9mm ammunition without a licence.

Shallow was remanded to prison until Wednesday, his next court date.

He is a cousin of Randy Shallow, who, along with this girlfriend, Freikesha Douglas, was earlier this year sentenced to 25 years each in jail for possession of a cache of guns and ammunition.

They will, however, each serve only eight years of their sentences, which will run concurrently.
