A Lowmans Windward man returns to the Serious Offences Court next Tuesday, Jan. 16, for trial on a charge that he had a round of ammunition in his possession at Argyle International Airport on Jan. 8.
When he appeared in court on Tuesday, Gerald Walters, 26, pleaded not guilty to a charge that on Jan. 8, he had in his possession one round of .38 ammunition at AIA.
The prosecution did not object to bail, but asked that the accused man surrender his travel document and report to the Biabou Police Station once per week between the hours 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne-Matthias granted bail in the sum of EC$2,000 with one surety.
She also ordered disclosure in two days.
It is the second time in two weeks that someone has been charged with possession of ammunition at AIA, which began operating on Feb. 14, 2017.
On Dec. 26, 2017, Robert Steele, of Villa/United States, was arraigned on a charge that he had in his possession at Argyle one round of 9mm ammunition without a licence that same day.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge but was freed during a trial that ended in shambles, with key witnesses unable to find on the ammunition initials they said they had placed there for identification purposes.
Something is wrong at the AIA
Why would some one have only one bullet in there suitcase or luggage ….carelessly… second person in less than a month???
In their suitcase or carry on luggage…just don’t make sense…

Makes no sense, maybe someone working there is putting the bullets in passanger luggage. Needs looking into.
If guy is working in Canouan why does he have to report at Biabou?
This makes no sense at all when did Canouan become a separate country.
