A prison officer has been brought before the court charged with possession of one round of ammunition.
On Monday, Carlos Williams, 33, of Peruvian Vale pleaded not guilty to a charge that he had in his possession at Her Majesty’s Prison one round of .38 ammunition on March 16, 2018.
He appeared before Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne-Matthias at the Serious Offences Court on Monday and was granted EC$2,000 bail.
He was also ordered to report to the Biabou Police Station on Mondays between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.
His next court appearance is on May 4.
iWitness News understands that the charge relates to Williams allegedly leaving the shooting range with a round of ammunition that he reportedly did not discharge.
