Police have arrested and charged a teacher and an entertainer in connection with the assault of a teenaged youth in South River amidst allegation that he was gay.

A part of the assaults was recorded on video and circulated via social media.

Police said on Thursday that they have jointly charged Kadir Nedd, 25, a schoolteacher and Ezra Cruickshank, 35, an entertainer, both of South Rivers, with the assault of a 17-year-old unemployed of Edinboro.

The accused men allegedly slapped the teen about his face and hit him in his head with their hands at South Rivers last Sunday, April 21.

The men appeared before the Georgetown Magistrate on Thursday and pleaded not guilty to the charge.

They were granted bail and ordered to return to court on May 16.
