Six weeks after the explosive eruption of La Soufriere, and four weeks after the last explosion, St. Vincent is like a tale of two islands.

In the southern part of the island, the volcano safe zone, life has all but returned to normal, with very little evidence of the destruction in the north.

However, in the north — in the red zone, located closest to the volcano, and in the orange zone a little further south — a totally different story…
