The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation (SVGFF) on Friday said it is awaiting a decision by Concacaf after the Senior Women’s Football Team failed to reach Bermuda on-time for its Nations League Qualifiers.

The SVGFF said that  all travel arrangements were confirmed for the Concacaf Women’s Nations League Qualifiers, Road to Gold Cup away match against Bermuda until Tuesday, Nov. 29.

“However, a communication from the travel agency revealed that the aircraft failed to secure necessary permissions for the planned route,” the SVGFF said in a press statement.

The statement said that despite efforts made by Wednesday to engage an alternative travel company, including waiting for both a quotation and conformations of permits, “the situation unfortunately remained unresolved.

“Consequently, the Senior Women’s Team couldn’t reach their destination within the necessary timeframe to compete in the upcoming match,” the SVGFF said.

It said Concacaf will conduct a review of the circumstances contributing to the team’s inability to travel.

“The SVGFF will be briefed on the decision concerning the outcome of today’s match, which will then be conveyed to the public. We, at the SVG Football Federation, sincerely regret the inconvenience caused,” SVGFF said.
