The two men who are allegedly shown in a viral video in which a cutlass was wielded have pleaded not guilty to assault and wounding charges.

The video, which was widely circulated on social media on the weekend, is said to have been recorded along the Georgetown Public Road.

Both men pleaded not guilty.

Prosecutor, Corporal Delando Charles did not object to bail but asked for suitable surety and for the defendants to have no contact with the virtual complainant.

The magistrate set bail at EC$1,200 for Kingsley and EC$1,800 for Maxford, with one surety for each man.

He further ordered them to have no contact with Da Souza.

The magistrate said that Maxford’s charge carries a greater weight than Kingsley, hence the difference in the bail amount.

He adjourned the matters to Jan. 22, 2024 for hearing.
