A Sandy Bay man has been remanded in custody in connection with a charge that he left a man in hospital with a cracked skull.
The accused, Vivian Sutherland, was not required to plead to the indictable charge that on Jan. 5, at Arnos Vale, he unlawfully and maliciously caused grievous bodily harm to Asquith Blugh, of Diamond, with intent so to do.
During the hearing at Kingstown Magistrate’s Court on Monday, prosecutor Corporal Delando Charles objected to bail, telling the court that the virtual complainant was still warded at Milton Cato Memorial Hospital.
He said that the initial report was that Blugh has a cracked skull.
Charles asked the court to conduct a bail review in two weeks at which time the prosecution will update the court on the status of the virtual complainant.
However, Senior Magistrate Colin John remanded Sutherland in custody until Monday for bail review.
Why Vincentians cannot deal with their anger issues? Why every disagreement have to end with or murder or an assault. No wonder why St Vincent is seen as the murder capital of the world. Our neighbor to the south, Grenada with a similar size population has only a fraction of the yearly homicide. Our crimes are slowly spilling into Grenada because of our close proximity.
