A man collapsed and died in his yard in Rillan Hill on Tuesday as he walked towards an ambulance that had arrived to take him to hospital.
iWitness News was reliably informed that the man, Lescott Douglas, 48, a welder, had been recently discharged from the hospital and was on medication.
The ambulance staff who had come to take him to the hospital covered the body with a white sheet and the police were informed of the development.
One of Douglas’ brothers, who used to live at the same house, died similarly more than a decade ago.
The brother collapsed and died in Pembroke, the neighbouring community.
How people don’t get help when they need it why so long.
There are so many things wrong here!! He called the ambulance, while walking he collapsed and the ambulance attendees didn’t try to get the man to the hospital? Are ambulance worker trained in putting in central lines, intubation and other life-saving procedures? If ambulance workers can’t pronounce death WHY do they not transport people to hospital where trained person can make that assessment of whether they are alive/ dead. A person should ONLY be pronounced AFTER life-saving procedures have been exhausted. Ambulance worker hasn’t tried anything but pronouncing!!! SVG is special in the lack of management and public servants who can’t critical think!!!
