One of the men charged with attempted murder, robbery and firearm offences in connection with the alleged attempted heist at GECCU in South Rivers has been charged with murder.

Police said on Wednesday that Lemar Issacs aka Chak, 22, unemployed, of McKies Hill, has been charged with the murder of Zeno Lee aka Sarge.

Isaacs allegedly shot and killed Lee, a 33-year-old businessman, in his home community, Murray’s Village, on June 16, 2024.

Issacs also faces attempted murder and grievous bodily harm stemming from the same shooting in which Lee was killed.

“On the same day as Lee’s murder, Issacs allegedly attempted to murder a 24-year-old bartender from Richmond Hill, by shooting him,” police said.

“Furthermore, Issacs is accused of unlawfully and maliciously causing grievous bodily harm to a 40-year-old unemployed resident of Murray’s Village, who was reportedly shot and fell into a river at Murray’s Village on June 16, 2024.”

Police did not identify the virtual complainant in the attempted murder and grievous bodily harm charges.

However, in their June 17 statement after Lee’s death, police said the shooting took place at a bar at Murray’s Village, where a gunman entered the bar, accosted the patrons, and opened fire.

The statement said Enrique King, an adult male, sustained gunshot wounds to his right chest and his right arm.

“Additionally, Ronald Millington sustained a broken leg while fleeing the scene during the incident,” police said.

Isaacs is one of two men against whom police have brought murder charges this week.

Police also announced that they have charged Michael Olan Lyscott aka Metal, 20, of New Montrose/Layou, with murder in connection with the shooting death of Patrick aka Smoke, of Layou, in his hometown on Oct. 16, 2023, the second murder charge brought against him this month.

“These arrests are a testament to the RSVGPF’s proactive and relentless efforts to combat serious crimes. The police continue to work tirelessly to investigate and solve crimes, bringing justice to victims and their families,” a statement said, urging people with information to these or other cases of criminal activity to come forward.

Isaacs, along with five other accused — Erasto Dasilva, 33, of Canouan; Esroy Jeffers aka Pirate, 28, of Layou; Rakiesha Joseph aka Bim Bim, 26, of Layou; Sharome Dopwell, of Paul’s Avenue, and Enrique John, 27, of Layou — have each been granted EC$25,000 in connection with the charges stemming from the alleged crimes in South Rivers.

They return to court on Sept. 30 for a preliminary inquiry.
