The 20-year-old Old Montrose man who was recently charged with murder in connection with the death of a Layou man has been charged in connection with another murder in the town.
Michael Olan Lyscott aka Metal, whose address police also gave as Layou, has been charged with the murder of Delano Patrick aka Smoke, of Layou.
Patrick was shot and killed in the Central Leeward town on Oct. 16, 2023, police said.
Patrick died in hospital, where he was taken after being shot in Middle Street, Layou around 1 a.m. the previous day.
Sources told iWitness News at the time that Patrick was shot 10 times and police recovered about a dozen spent shells at the scene.
A police statement at the time said that preliminary information was that Patrick was on his way home when he was accosted by an assailant(s) who shot him multiple times about his body.
He was taken to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at about 2 p.m. on Oct.16, 2023.
Patrick and Tambu Patrick, 39, his cousin, were among four people killed in Layou in about six weeks in 2023 in the first killings in the town since 2018.
Tambu Patrick was shot multiple times by assailant(s) who pursued him even as he attempted to find refuge in a nearby home in Ruthland Vale.
The murder charge against Lyscott comes even as he is in custody awaiting a Sept 9 preliminary inquiry into a charge that on Nov. 18, 2023, at Layou, he murdered Leon Gaymes, 26, a resident of the Central Leeward town.
Gaymes died in a gun attack in which he attempted to fight off his assailant even as the deceased had been losing blood after the first gunshot wound during an attack in full view of his girlfriend and their 3-year-old son.

Look at the age of these [alleged] gunslingers. Their parents are of the same characteristics, I bet you. The guava don’t fall too far from the tree. The unfortunate thing is that the state has abolished capital punishment and therefore the state has to feed them in jail for 40 years and more after conviction.
thanks a lot of information keren bgt
What is happening in my Hometown? Discipline must return to the schools and homes. The teachers and parents are afraid of the police and these cry-baby judges, but the youths are afraid of NOBODY.
