The former executive at British American Insurance Company Ltd. (BAICO) in SVG died on the day that the Trinidad-based Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ) dismissed a lawsuit brought against the Trinidad and Tobago government over the 2009 collapse of the British American Insurance Co. Ltd and Colonial Life Insurance Co. Ltd insurance giants.
BAICO and Colonial Life Insurance Co. Ltd. Policy Holders Group (BACOL) brought the lawsuit, claiming that after 15 years of perseverance, it has “significantly advanced the pursuit of financial justice” for policyholders in Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia and St. Vincent and the Grenadines who have “suffered extreme financial loss and hardship” after the collapse of BAICO.
In August 2017, the Pentecostal churches in SVG appreciated Frederick as he marked 50 years of Christian ministry.
In his response at that service, Frederick, who was known for his humour-infused speeches and sermons, said that when he preached his first sermon on March 17, 1967, (Elsie Frederick) the woman who would become his wife — then still a teenager — and a few others were in charge of the church.
“And my eyes were on my notes, but another eye was on her,” he said, adding, “But I kept my eyes on Jesus but another eye was circulating.
“Young men, literally watch and pray because God has people in store for you. Believe you me, I am not an easy person to go with and to have somebody to stand along with me… I am a visionary and sometimes everybody doesn’t follow and understand. Sometimes, you are going even without anybody following and this lady has stood [with me]. Independently, she can hold her own. God has been good to us.”
Frederick said that 18 months earlier he had seen his wife coming down with a stroke and knew what could have happened, “but God, in his mercy, reversed it”
Frederick was a long-standing Pastor of the Hill Top Tabernacle in Golden Vale/Glen and had been a co-host of the weekly television programme “Encounter”.
In 2015, Frederick was awarded a Doctor of Ministry from the Institute of Theological Education and the Miami International Seminary.
Well done faithful servant!! Enter into the joy of the Lord
Sleep in peace pastor absent from the body present with the Lord. You fought a good fight….
He who has begun a good work in you is faithful to complete it. God started the work in you, He has brought you to ‘receivership’- “well done thou good and faithful servant.”
My first teenage pastor at Grand Roy pentecostal church. He had inspired me to be the best of myself before getting married to his wife and moving to St. Vincent. I have seen him in years but I know he loved the lord and people. I appreciate his instructions to me as a youth and I thank God for his work in the ministry. Rest in peace Rev. Fredrick.
I am glad to hear of the many nice things that people are saying about my Uncle George. We, his mother and father’s side of the family loved him even though others seemed to suggest otherwise. My mother(his eldest sister) and him were very close, and it was she he would talked to many times about his struggles. My siblings and I grew up always hearing my Grandmother talked about, how he nearly died as a child, but, that God spared his life so he can be used by him. Uncle George, you have fought the fight, ran the race. Both Spiritual and Physical, now you are at home, and will received your reward. We will meet you in glory.
