The Carnival Bands Incorporated of St. Vincent and the Grenadines elected a new executive during its triennial conference on Oct. 22.

The conference heard Reports from the national executive and the chairman’s address and several motions were tabled, debated and passed.

A new national executive was elected, with Garth Niles as chai and Alvern Cadogan as deputy.

The secretary is Petra Pompey; treasurer, Leroy Rose Jr; assistant secretary/treasurer, Alicia Sardine and public relations officer, Duane Jack.

The band leaders’ representative is Verlene Ralph-James and the committee members Cleopatra Weekes, Kelly-Anne Neverson, Jamal Jacobs.

The immediate past chairman is Hugh Raguette.

Niles addressed the audience, outlining several initiatives he would like to see materialise, prioritising acquiring a home for mas bands.

The Band Leaders’ Association was established in the 1960s and the CBI was incorporated in July 2019.

  1. They need a website to communicate with MAS players who are probably looking to participate in the festival. Players can be visitors from foreign countries, look to have some fun while visiting SVG.
    They can have advertisers showing and offering their products and services on the site. This can and will help with the cost of operating the site.
