Police have shot and injured the drug addict known as “Pipey” who has a history of behaving violently toward people in Kingstown.
iWitness News understands that police shot the man in his leg in Lower Middle Street, near Clear Harbor, sometime after 5 a.m. Friday.
He was taken to hospital for medical attention.
iWitness News was reliably informed that police responded to a report that Pipey had a cutlass and was threatening people in the city as they went about their early morning activities.
Many people have spoken about being afraid of Pipey, who is also said to have a history of mental illness and has demonstrated impressive physical strength.
The officer-involved shooting occurred in the area where Jarvis Horne aka Smaddy Dan, of Fairbairne Pasture was gunned down by an unknown assailant around 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
On Dec. 22. 2021, Hot 97.1 dedicated a segment of its morning show, “A.M. Mayhem” to discuss the fact that Pipey was back on the streets of the city and threatening people.
