A Vincentian man has been charged after he allegedly used a fake Bahamian passport at Argyle International Airport. 

Maxroy Campbell, 38, of Mt. Grenan and Georgetown, has been charged with using a false instrument and attempted forgery.

Police have alleged that on Dec. 21, at Argyle, Campbell, used a false Bahamian passport, knowing or believing it to be false, with the intention of inducing an immigration officer to accept it as genuine.

Campbell was further charged with attempting to commit forgery by performing an act more than merely preparatory to the commission of the offence.

He appeared before the Serious Offences Court in Kingstown on Friday and pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Senior Magistrate Colin John granted Campbell EC$10,000 bail with one surety and ordered that stop notices be placed at all ports of entry and exit.

Campbell was ordered to surrender all travel documents and the matter was adjourned to Jan. 7, 2025.
