Former President of the Rotary Club St. Vincent, Daniel Campbell, has pleaded guilty to sexual assault, almost two years after the charge was brought against him.
Campbell, 34, pleaded guilty to the charge last week and his sentencing was set for next month.
He was less than a year into his stint as president of the service club when the charge was brought against him in May 2023.
He had pleaded not guilty at his arraignment but entered a guilty plea last week.
Campbell pleaded guilty to indecently assaulting the virtual complaining, a female who was in her early 20s at the time of the offence, in April 2023.
The court allowed his bail to continue pending sentencing.
Campbell is represented by lawyer Grant Connell.
Campbell is the son of the late Queen’s Counsel Parnell Campbell, a former attorney general, whose public education television programme, “The Law and You”, educated Vincentians for decades about their rights under the law.
His father would have been devastated.
