Taiwan Ambassador to St. Vincent and the Grenadines Fiona Huei-Chun Fan has handed over a donation of supplies on behalf of the SimplyHelp Foundation.
The supplies were handed over to Minister of National Mobilisation and Social Development, Keisal Peters at West St. George Secondary School recently.
Minister of Education and National Reconciliation, Curtis King, officers from his ministry, over 150 teachers and students and people affected by Hurricane Beryl witnessed the handing over.
The donation was a 40-foot container of shoes, toys, sports equipment, nutrition supplements, wheelchairs and similar items, with an estimated value of over US$66,000.
“Fan gave special thanks to our true friend, SimplyHelp Foundation, a non-profit charity organisation located in Los Angeles, California, USA, founded by Taiwanese-American businesswoman Ms. Tina Bow,” a press release said.
“Taiwan and SVG enjoy 44 years of profound friendship and robust collaboration across various fields. Ambassador Fan underscored the fact that we are on collaboration in health, agriculture, education, and so on, including the construction of the Arnos Vale Acute Hospital (AVACH), introduction of young farmers to advanced smart agriculture, and Taiwan scholarship. SimplyHelp Foundation’s generosity and contributions over the years strengthen bilateral relationship. The foundation hopes to help SVG communities get through ups and downs, and to recover from the passage of Hurricane Beryl.”
Meanwhile, Peters expressed appreciation for SimplyHelp Foundation’s generosity.
She praised Taiwan, pointing out that no sectors of Vincentian society has not been touched by Taiwan.
“She further reaffirmed the fruitful achievements and everlasting partnership between Taiwan and St. Vincent and the Grenadines,” the press release said.
