Police have responded to the scene in Diamond where a man was shot dead Thursday evening.
The man died after he was allegedly shot in the head.
iWitness News is yet to verify the identity of the victim.
The death brings to two the number of people in the East St. George-South Windward community to die of gunshot injuries in one day.
It is the third gunshot death of a resident of the community in less than a month.
Earlier on Thursday, Michael Richards aka Boxer, a 26-year-old labourer, of Diamond, died at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, (MCMH) where he was being treated since April 1, when he was shot on Murray’s Road, Kingstown.
Laurent Isidore, 26, of St. Lucia, who was living at Gibson Corner, and Keon Hackshaw, 17, of Ottley Hall, have been in custody since the day of the shooting.
They appeared in court on April 3 on an attempted murder charge, which is expected to be upgraded to murder.
Meanwhile, on March 26, Chris Junior Roderick Williams aka Shines and Junior, 29, of Glen, died at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, where he was being treated since being shot in Diamond on March 16.
Thursday’s killing in Diamond brings the homicide count in St. Vincent and the Grenadines for 2025 to eight.
The country recorded 54 homicides in 2024 and a record 55 the previous year.
