The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Teachers Co-operative Credit Union Ltd. (SVGTCCU Ltd.) has awarded five scholarships for seven years, representing their secondary education and two years of post-secondary studies.
The 2025 scholarship recipients are Blossom Mc Calmon, Amara Stowe, Khalique Peters, Khadeja Trumpet and Leah Charles-Scott.
Each scholarship provides EC$1,600 annually from Form 1 to Form 3 and EC$1,800 annually from Form 4 through Community College, ensuring these students have the financial support they need to excel in their academic journeys.
The scholarship ceremony heard remarks from several guests, including Dr. Kerron Glasgow, the keynote speaker, who was a scholarship recipient from 2009 to 2014.
Glasgow encouraged the awardees to remain focused, work diligently, and seize every opportunity to positively impact their communities.
Karen Burgin from the Ministry of Education also shared remarks, commending SVGTCCU Ltd. for its long-standing commitment to youth development and educational empowerment.
Nathaniel Williams, president of the SVGTCCU Ltd. board of directors, reinforced these sentiments, reaffirming the credit union’s dedication to shaping the leaders of tomorrow.
The scholarship programme has been a flagship initiative of SVGTCCU Ltd. since 1984, providing critical financial support and mentorship to students across St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Over the years, the programme has produced a cadre of high achievers who have gone on to make significant contributions locally and internationally.
