I am writing to bring to your attention a serious and ongoing issue at one of the health centres in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, which has been affecting many patients, including myself, for quite some time.
Since the clinic opened, I have been a regular patient there. However, one persistent problem is the behaviour and work ethic of the pharmacist assigned to the clinic. On most days, the pharmacist arrives at the clinic very late — typically around 10 or 10:30 a.m. — and leaves extremely early, often before 12 noon. This is highly inconvenient for patients who have just seen the doctor and are expecting to receive their prescribed medications, especially those who cannot afford to buy them elsewhere.
It is frustrating and disheartening to witness the impact this has on the public. Many patients have openly expressed their frustration and dissatisfaction, as they are often left without access to essential medications. To make matters worse, the pharmacist is frequently seen using their phone while assisting patients, which comes across as unprofessional and disrespectful to those in need of care.
In the past, their spouse was regularly seen inside the pharmacy while the pharmacist was on duty. More recently, the spouse has been observed dropping the pharmacist off and waiting for the pharmacist to complete what essentially amounts to a two-hour shift. Just last week, the clinic was without a pharmacist for four consecutive days, and no one was sent to cover the vacancy.
On Monday of this week, I returned to the clinic around 11:50 a.m. to collect my medication, only to find that the pharmacist had already left. A nurse went to check and confirmed that the pharmacist’s room was locked. Another patient, who had just seen the doctor, was understandably upset, as there was no pharmacist available to dispense medication for her and her child.
This situation is unacceptable. The residents of the community and surrounding areas deserve better. We need a pharmacist who is committed, punctual, and professional. It is time for the authorities to take this matter seriously and assign someone who is willing to fulfill their duties and serve the public with the care and respect they deserve.

Same thing I thought. What’s the point of writing this article if you are not going to provide enough information to expose the perpetrator, or provide a way for the authorities to hold that person accountable?
You either address the issue in its entirety or not at all. You can’t want to play mas and fraid powder.
