Jujube Bookstore in Kingstown has donated copies of “Let’s Write” to the Grade 6 class of the Evesham Methodist School.

“Let’s Write” is a locally produced text written by graduate teacher Adriana S. King, designed to instruct learners on composition writing.

“The bookstore always strives to contribute to the development of young minds across the country,” Telbert Samuel, owner of Jujube Bookstore, said.

“It was necessary to donate to the school because improving education and literacy is a community effort with which everyone can help,” he said.

Principal of the school, Damaris Martin was grateful for the donation, saying it would help the school’s literacy drive, which is to nurture strong readers and writers.

“I see the book as an invaluable resource in helping students understand and write the different structures in a structured yet engaging way,” Martin said.

A Grade 6 teacher of the school said the book presents a “simple” method that could be used to teach the writing of a thesis statement.

The teacher described the book as a “valuable resource that supports students in developing confidence and skill in writing, with exercises that help both teachers and students”.
